Please accept our hopes and prayers for you and your families during these current modern-day unprecedented time of pandemic and also the resulting economic decline in our country and our world.
The current situation has brought about both a new individual and community awareness of the fragility of so many of the things that we may have taken for granted for so long. For now, the requirements to stay in our homes and to limit our travels for only essential needs has given us the opportunity to reflect on our lives and how interdependent we are as a caring community.
My staff and I at Genesis number ourselves among “our community” and we, too, are facing the new realities that exist for us as individuals, as a business, AND...as a UNIQUE Glat Kosher amenity to our cherished customer base.
Most people may not realize a few important things that we want to now share with you. These are facts that we knew BEFORE the establishment of Genesis, yet we were then and STILL are nevertheless committed to the viability, survivability, and long term success for our restaurant.
Our great City of Houston is home to over 7 million people in the Metropolitan area. OUR base of those who value and patronize our Glat Kosher dine-in, carry-out, delivery, and catering is between 8,000-10,000 people that account for 75% of our business.
Whereas any other restaurant may be open up to 365 days per year....to maintain our Glat Kosher certification, we MUST be CLOSED 82 days per year! Thus, while we can be open for business for only 78% of the year...we still must generate enough revenue to cover our many of our business expenses....for 100% of the year.
For the last 6 years, and with the help of our dedicated and talented kitchen and dining room staff we have dedicated ourselves to provide the finest dine -in and catering experience that would generate the revenue needed to serve our patron base and community.
We are now facing a new unexpected reality that is a major concern to the future of Genesis! Our dining room is closed. Catered events have ceased. Overhead has not.
We do NOT want to have to CLOSE! We want to be here for YOU! The bottom line is starting NOW...we need to be able to provide MORE pick-up & delivery meals for you and your family. In addition, we are asking you to take the opportunity for Genesis to prepare outstanding Passover cuisine for your seder and other Passover meals.
Lastly, as you are seeing on this “GO FUND ME” website, please join our best efforts to keep Genesis here for you by TEAMING UP with us with any meaningful extra gratuities to your orders...AND...to please consider outright contributions to this operating capital campaign in units from $10 to $10,000!
