Moroccan Earthquake Victims
Donation protected
As most of you know, Morocco is very close to our hearts with half our family living there. Thankfully Bahram’s family are all unharmed and housed but there are thousands upon thousands of people who weren’t as fortunate. The recent earthquake has devastated entire villages and many families have lost their homes, loved ones, means to make an income, have no access to medical attention, running water and shelter. Some villages have been completely shut off from the outside world with roads in and out being blocked by debris.
I would like to raise funds to provide immediate relief in the form of food packages containing the daily staples used in Morocco. Each care package costs the equivalent of around $40 AUD and contains the following:
1L cooking oil, 1kg flour,1kg lentils, 1kg couscous, 1kg carrots, 1kg potatoes, 1kg onions, 1kg tomatoes, 1kg pasta, 1 box laughing cow cheese, 1 box sugar, 2 boxes tea, 1 tub of butter, honey, salt, female sanitary items.
With friends and family on the ground ready to help, each dollar donated will go directly to help a family in need. The funds will be transferred via Western Union to our relative, Mohamed-Ayman Radi who will then assist people personally. If I could do it alone I would, but as the saying goes, it takes a village.
