Hi. I'm Jamie. I don't want to do this. But I love my daughter and I love our home and I will do anything in my power to keep it. Here's my story.

I work at a pet crematory. I've been there for six years and I absolutely love it. One day a little old man named Michael called me. He was afraid his dog would die after him and he would have no arrangements made for his care and eventual cremation. I helped him then. I kept helping him. I brought him groceries and sat with him for hours. I brought his mail in, I took him to doctors appointments. He just needed a little bit of help and a friend more than anything. I adored him.

He was so happy when he found out I was pregnant. After becoming such fast friends he surprisingly told me that when he died or when he returned to Germany where the rest of his family is he wanted me, my husband, and our daughter to live on his property. He told me he wanted my baby to grow up there. He wanted someone who was going to love the place as much as he did. I was touched but didn't think much of it. For all I knew he didn't even own the house. I didn't care, he was my friend. Which is why it devastated me so when I found him passed away in his driveway one cold February day.

I took care of his dog, Sammy, until his family was able to get here. When they did they worked out a great deal in order for me to buy the house. We had three years on a land contract which would (I thought) allow my husband and I time to get our financials in order and apply for a mortgage.

Problems have continuously popped up and I'm just so overwhelmed that I don't know what to do except try to ask for some help. I had a difficult pregnancy and had to be put on bed rest and while my job does offer short term disability it was only 40% of my pay. We ended up having to put a lot of stuff (including moving expenses) on credit and it has ruined us. We can't seem to get our heads above water. My husband had to relocate his business so we have little coming in on his side of things currently, we got a 3,000 tax bill in the mail that has to be paid before they foreclose, I'm looking into payment arrangements for that. To top it all off our only car is broken down and we are struggling to fix it. Everything is terrible right now and I just need a little bit of help.
