FHO Surgery for Urru

Urru, formerly known as Quiche, is a senior rescue from Chicago. Urru was dumped last year with other small dogs after the owners of a hoarding situation were removed from the property. CACC took Urru off the streets before transferring him to PAWS where they were able to nurture him back to health. He was part of the Help me Heal foster program in July 2023, through which I took him in and fostered before officially adopting him in December.

Urru was found with several health issues having come from a hoarding situation, including severe dental disease which caused oronasal fistulas and complete decay of his teeth. He received surgery and treatment for both and is now a beautiful toothless boy. He is also blind in one eye and is missing a chin from previous trauma.

Urru loves life and continues to persevere despite his most recent health obstacle. He now needs femoral head ostectomy for his hip. It is currently hanging out the socket which they will need to reconstruct through surgery. At the moment, Urru is on a lot of pain meds to help with the discomfort and won't be able to walk until after the surgery. He has an upcoming final appointment on July 16th after which the date for the actual surgery will be determined.

His pet insurance doesn't cover this procedure, which is why we've created a GoFundMe for him. Despite his rough and neglected past, Urru is a fighter and grateful for where he is now. He is incredibly loving and playful, always in the best of spirits even though he is currently in a lot of pain due to his hip. Urru truly loves his new life and any contribution will make a big difference (and will be greatly appreciated) as we continue to make sure he lives out the rest of his life surrounded by the love and care he deserves.
