Support the Webb Family's Medical Battle

Donation protected
We are contacting Maryann and Phillip Webb's friends, family, and colleagues to share their stories and ask for your help. Our dear friends are dealing with life-threatening health issues. Maryann is dealing with the long-term effects of a three-year battle with C. difficile infections, and her rock, Phil, was recently diagnosed with Stage IV metastatic pancreatic cancer.

Maryann, Phil, and their child Jamie epitomize the American dream. Despite modest beginnings, Maryann and Phil both had successful careers. Maryann graduated from Oyster River High School in New Hampshire in 1985 and was accepted to Georgetown University. She has spent her career as a regulatory affairs professional, ensuring the safety of our food and supplements. Phil worked for AT&T and loved taking Jamie to soccer practice and games. In 2015, the family was happy and healthy with a bright future.

In late 2015, everything changed. Maryann was treated for diverticulitis, which led to her developing an extraordinarily debilitating and life-threatening infection called C. difficile. Maryann spent three years of her life battling this infection, including frequent hospital stays. After exhausting conventional therapies, she received a life-saving fecal microbiota transplant in 2018.

The emotional and financial toll on Maryann and her family from recurrent, debilitating C. diff infections has been exhausting. Maryann was unable to work for nearly four years. Moreover, C. diff releases potent toxins in the body that can have long-lasting, injurious effects. Currently, Maryann suffers from long-term C. diff symptoms, including debilitating GI distress and pain, and fatigue.

Maryann’s battle with C. difficile led her to become a tireless advocate for other patients and a leader in charitable, corporate, and other efforts to educate the public and minimize the horrific suffering associated with this disease. Her advocacy work has brought her before the FDA and numerous healthcare organizations, and she has even been featured on CBS Evening News.

Having survived C. diff, Maryann returned to work as a regulatory affairs professional in 2019. With Jamie in college, she and Phil moved from Florida to Delaware for this new position. But last year, her health took a turn for the worse, once again leaving her unable to work.

While Maryann has historically turned to Phil for critical support, a few weeks ago, he was diagnosed with Stage IV metastatic pancreatic cancer. This week, he began treatment for this horrific and painful disease. To help Maryann and Phil, Jamie is relocating to Delaware from Florida.

Not only are Maryann and Phil now BOTH dealing with life-threatening medical diseases, but the family is facing mounting medical and other bills, lost wages, and costly insurance coverage. The emotional impact of their diseases on the Webb family cannot be overstated.

We ask your help to cover the expenses caused by Maryann’s and Phil’s medical conditions. Regardless of size, your donations will support the Webb family during this critical time. We appreciate your generosity and ask that you share this with others you know who may be interested in helping the Webbs.

Thank you for your kindness and compassion. We can show the Webbs that they do not face this crisis alone. They have the support and love of the many friends, family, and others who care deeply about them.
