The Lopez Family to benefit Matthew Lopez
Donation protected
Hi, this is Ariels work family here at Mission Hospital on 3 East, where Ariel has been a dedicated caregiver for over 25 years. We are devastated to share that one of his twin 14-year-old sons suffered a major left sided MCA stroke on December 21, 2023. We appreciate you taking a moment to read his story. Matthew is a shy, kind and sweet young man that loves soccer and swimming. He loves spending time with his friends’ playing games, watching movies, walking to school and Starbucks. But his recent passion is in the theater where he has been in charge of the actors’ wardrobes.
He was initially taken to San Antonio Hospital and then transferred to Loma Linda Hospital and admitted to the pediatric ICU. He went through extensive testing, and it was learned that he likely has a blood vessel disorder-Moyamoya. This life changing event has affected Matthews ability to use the right side of his body and his ability to speak. Prognosis from the neurologist is that Matthew will have a long road ahead of him, full of extensive therapy and treatments to gain some recovery. He is making slight improvements every day and is now able to walk short distance with a hemi-walker and learning pronunciation of basic words.
We are reaching out to humbly request your support and contribution towards the cause. On behalf of The Lopez family, Ariel, his lovely wife Arline, Miguel and Marco we are setting this GoFundMe page in hopes of raising funds to alleviate the financial burden and contribute to therapy costs not covered by insurance. We kindly request that you take a moment to consider the impact your support can make in Matthews recovery. He is motivated and determined to go back to his life prior to this horrific event and is looking forward to going back to school and daily activities that he enjoys so much. Together we can make a meaningful difference and create a better future for this precious boy. Any amount you are willing to contribute is so greatly appreciated, and if you are not able to contribute at this time a share with your friends and family would mean the world to us as well
