Hi this is Donald and Renee Blum. Ryder is our nephew. We are trying to raise funds to help with his care. Mom is unemployed , and is staying home to help take care of him.

On 2/19 our world started getting flipped upside down. We heard some words that terrified us but knew Ryder was in the best place he could be. And then after a chest tube (to help drain the fluid on his chest) and millions of tests, on 2/24 our greatest fear became a reality. Ryder was diagnosed with Fusion Positive Rhabdomyosarcoma. I have never in a million years thought that I would be helping my boy fight cancer. The only thing that I keep telling myself is that is that Ryder will be able to beat this, we have a long 2 years ahead of us but he will be able to be back on that baseball diamond doing what he loves.

There is a large tumor around his diaphragm, which is the source of all the fluid. That one has also spread up his right chest wall and onto his liver and right kidney. He has already had his first round of chemo and is doing great. He will have a total of 14 rounds of chemo and some radiation, there is no surgery to remove his tumors. Each day he keeps getting stronger and stronger to where we will be able to be back home. He is getting back to acting like my crazy Ryder too.
