Tiny's Recovery

Dear friends and animal lovers,

I’m reaching out for help for Tiny, our 5-year-old husky who adores people and loves to explore. Despite all our precautions, she managed to slip her lead while I was getting my three children ready for school on Monday. I called two neighbors to help me look for her, but someone in our subdivision fired three shots before we could find her—two of which hit Tiny. Miraculously, she made it back home and waited for help.

One of the bullets shattered her leg so badly that it can’t be casted. A surgeon at Surrey Vet in Clare, wanted to try saving her leg with a special metal external device. I had several discussions with the staff at Surrey over the last couple days conserning the risks involved, healing process, and the fail rate of this device. I took her to another vet today for a second opinion and after a long discussion about infection rates and fail rates we have decided to move care to M20 Animal Hospital in Midland as they are better equipt to handle this trauma than Surrey. My husband is just weeks away from a seasonal layoff, so our finances are very tight right now. We don’t have a final bill yet, but the surgery is estimated to cost around $2,500.

We are heartbroken she has to go through this and asking for any help to cover Tiny’s surgery to get her started on the road to recovery. If you can donate or even just share this post, it would mean the world to our family and to Tiny. Thank you so much for your kindness.
