This is Rusty, he is just turning three years old and the sweetest most perfect best friend anyone could ask for.
While playing fetch last month, a stick punctured his throat. It was just an accident. We now know that a splinter of that sticks has found it's way with all it's bacteria to his lungs, which are now flilling up with pus. He will likely slowly suffocate and die over the next few months. If he can recieve surgury to remove the spinter, his odds of survival are very very good. Please help us afford this life saving surgery for our young sweet boy! Pass along to any pet lovers or networks you can. Any little bit helps.
This is called pyothorax and there is no effective way to treat it except surgury. We have already considered and called around to Canada and Mexico. It is too severe a case for the humane society to take on. Vet schools in OR,WA,ID and BC likewise will not take this case. The velvet fund does not apply. The Hannah hospital is not equipped for this type of surgury. We are out of options. Please help. The total cost of this is estimated at around $14,000. Trevor and I will put everything we've got towards it, and if you have other suggestions please send them our way!
