My name is Tiffany Carolan and I am a stay at home mom to 2 young boys, ages 16 months and 3 years. I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Non-Hodgkin's Follicular 3b Lymphoma in December 2015, the week of my 35th birthday. I had to undergo 3 biopsies and 2 surgeries to determine the subtype of my cancer.
I am currently undergoing 6-8 rounds of R-CHOP chemotherapy every 21 days. After that I will require maintaince chemo for an additional 2 years. I will have my 2nd PET scan in about 1 week and I complete weekly blood draws to monitor my white and red blood cell counts. My numbers always seem to be cautiously low 2 weeks after each chemo and I have to be very careful about where I go, what I eat and how much energy I use.
As with any unexpected life experience, our lives have been forever changed. There's nothing that can really prepare a person for the challenges they'll face with cancer but I believe there is a reason for everything and I'm trying my hardest to stay faithful. But honestly, the struggle is real and very depressing at times. However, through it all, I still feel grateful because it has taught me how to love more deeply and to genuinely be present for each day.
I am humbly asking for your help to raise $6,000. The money will be used strictly to help cover the medical bills we've incurred up to this point. I have an extremely difficult time asking for help but I'm afraid that if I don't, my family will suffer and things will only continue to get worse. I feel responsible for placing this financial burden on our family so this is my sincere effort to find a solution.
