URGENT Surgery for our cat
Donation protected
Hello!
Our cat Lucy has been just diagnosed with Open Pyometra. She needs an urgent surgery as this infection can kill her within days.
Lucy is around 10 years old and never had any health issues so seeing her in this state did not prepare us for this emergency.
Lucys owners are unable to fund this surgery, they are disabled and retired. Upon the vets advice and referral to PDSA, I have contacted them multiple times with no success, once I have finally managed to get in touch with a member of staff I was told they cannot offer any help, despite being eligible for it, because they have no space, regardless whether the referral has been sent or not.
I have spent all day calling every single clinic and charity asking for help and no place is able to help out with the costs.
My one last resort was calling pet protection and ask for a neutering voucher however because it’s not simple neutering, but open pyometra, it will cost more, plus cat protection does not give out any more vouchers this year.
We have reached out limits don’t know what else to do or who to call. That’s why I am making this fundraiser in hopes to save our cat. The vets have given us an estimate that the surgery will cost between £1300 and £1500 including aftercare.
I will greatly appreciate your generosity in this difficult time for us.
