Pitbull Attack Victim

Hello everyone, my name is Kaitlyn Dross and I’m 25 years old. I was brutally attacked by a pitbull in December of 2022. Due to litigation purposes, I have not been able to speak out since the attack and was not able to put out anything like this. I am more than ready to continue this fight and tell my story.

Since the attack, I was diagnosed with Generalized Seizure Disorder due to the trauma to my head being so violent (I was scalped). I have lost the ability to work, to drive, and to take care of many of my own needs.

I have never been the person to ask for help or any type of sympathy. This situation has turned my life completely upside down and I have lost everything. I am about to be homeless, I have no car, I can’t afford groceries, I can’t afford monthly needs, and unfortunately cannot get hired due to my injuries from this attack.

Originally, this was not my intention. I figured a lawsuit would bring justice that is deserved and due, but I was dead wrong. The city of Gary, Indiana could not care less what happened to me and made sure there were no consequences for the owner of this dog.

On December 22nd, 2022, a week after graduating with my Bachelor’s, I was left for dead by my best friend at the hands of her pitbull. This “friend” robbed everything of mine she could get her hands on, refused to call 911 for multiple minutes, and was focusing on hiding her dog so she did not get in trouble. The operators were then lied to and were told I was not a priority, therefore causing them to take their time.
