My brother Trevor Mazur was born on April 28th 1995. 3 years later, some devastating news would change my family's lives forever. Trevor was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. A tragic muscle wasting disease that led to a wheelchair for Trevor by the age of 10 and his passing at the age of 20 this year. His life was full of many struggles that he was constantly overcoming with a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eyes. He never complained and was always trying to do things for other people to brighten up their days. He was one of the strongest people I will ever know and now he is shining bright in heaven as our guardian angel. His life here on earth is a testament to the love and devotion of my parents.
My parents, Ed and Lisa Mazur, gave their life to my brother Trevor. They gave him the best life possible and Trevor was blessed to have such wonderful and selfless parents. From the trips they took him on around the U.S. to the everyday care they gave him, they devoted their life to him for his health and more importantly his happiness. Their love shined brightly through him and kept him strong until his very last day. Although this disease was heartbreaking, Trevor kept our family positive with his optimism and love for life in spite of his struggles. He was an inspiration to my parents, my sister Merissa Mazur and I, and for anyone that knew him.
My parents were with Trevor one way or the other 24/7 everyday for the last 17 years and both held and still hold full time jobs. They wouldn't have had it any other way and also never once complained about the sacrifices they had to make, financially, physically, mentally, and socially. They adored Trevor and my entire family had 20 years of amazing times and memories with our angel that we will hold onto forever. Our lives will never be the same without him, but we are going to try to find peace knowing that he is happy running around in heaven, watching over us, and no longer struggling or in pain.
I am starting this Go Fund Me account in my parents name because they need as much help as we can give them. Between medical and hospital bills to the cost of the beautiful funeral we had for Trevor, there are lot of financial hardships they have endured. My parents are so deserving of happiness and I would love to lessen their stress and pain by helping them with even just a little bit of their financial burdens during this most difficult time. Any donations you can give would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you so very much and God Bless!
Sincerely,
Magan Mazur
