I was diagnosed with colon cancer in June 2013. Since then I have undergone two surgeries and 24 treatments of chemotherapy. Through all of those treatments, although I didn't feel great, I never feared for my life.
These past couple months my health has quickly deteriorated. For the first time I can see real signs of cancer. Bumps have popped up in my abdomen and I am having a hard time eating (food does not always go through).
My body has become less and less healthy from each surgery and chemo treatment and I don't feel that I am "healing" myself by going through that. Fortunately there are better ways to heal and I've found one that is for me!
I live in Chicago but right now I am in Arizona getting treated at Euromed (my parents and fiance Colleen are here supporting me and will be back and forth to be with me). They are giving me chemotherapy in a way that decreases the toxicity and allows my body to recover and my immune system to stay strong.
This is the treatment that I thoroughly believe will work for me long term but unfortunately it is expensive and only partially covered by insurance.
I am thankful to anyone who donates towards my cause. I have many treatments ahead of me, but mostly need help paying for the first couple months, when they are most frequent (4 days a week at the doctor). I will not give up on myself regardless of the money. Thank you for learning my story!
