TH Lawrence Family Help
Donation protected
Friends and family: please see TH’s story below. As of now, he is stable and in the hospital in Springfield, Mo. where he has been for the past few weeks. We are not sure what the future holds, but we do know that the road ahead will be difficult with TH not being able to work, and all that comes along with the uncertainty of his long term care/plan. If donating is not possible, I am including Tacy’s email address in case there are other ways that people are willing to help. We appreciate your love, support and prayers for TH, Tacy and their family ❤️.
“ In January 2018 T.H. was airflighted to the hospital in which he was diagnosed with congestive heart failure with his heart only functioning at 5%. He was immediately put on echomo (life support for your heart) and was in a sedated coma in ICU for 12 days and in ICU for 21 days. The cardiologist was not sure what his options were going to be with his heart function so low. After much discussion they decided to see if his heart could handle itself with a pump to assist and being put on heart strengthening medications. His heart was stable and he was able to come home after 21 days. He came home with a life vest and several medications. Over a year span with the help of medications, exercise, and diet, he was able to build his heart function back up to 57% and was able to lead a fairly normal life……. Even going back to work and was able to enjoy his 4 kids! In November 2022 he came home from work not feeling well. He went to the local ER where they said his heart was not functioning right and pushing fluid into his lungs. They sent him home with water pills. Two days later he was back in the ER only this time we drove to Springfield in which they admitted him for 4 days. After being sent home again, he progressively got worse and his heart went into Afib. TH ended up back in the ER where he received a cardiac shock to get his heart back into rhythm. Again, he got worse and went back to Springfield ER where he was admitted and put in ICU for 7 days and is still currently in a hospital heart room. He has had more cardiac shocks done and recently a cardiac ablation to help his heart from going into Afib. The cardiologist said his heart is only functioning at 10% and his body is not strong enough or accepting his medications to strengthen his heart. As of now, The next step is to transfer him to Kansas City for more long term options such as a heart transplant or an LVAD, but are waiting for some kinks to be worked out in that process. They want to get him home as a bridge to wait until he can get into the Kansas City heart hospital. He will have to come home in a “heart life vest” and with IV infusion medication, which is extremely costly. We don’t know where this journey will take us but we appreciate any support. “
