Hello friends and family! My name is Emily Fajardo, and I am currently a third-year business major at Humboldt State University.

It has always been my dream to study overseas since my freshman year in college. Unfortunately, due to family situations I have had to push it back and re think about being so far away from family every semester. As my undergrad years at HSU are coming to an end, I have been given the opportunity to study abroad in Nantes, France this summer and I am truly blessed. This is a 10-week summer immersion French language and culture program. I will be going to school, attending classes daily and living in the university dorms with other French students. When I’m not in class, I will have the opportunity to participate in service learning activities with local organizations and be able to donate my time and contribute to their communities, which I am truly passionate about. Studying abroad will not only be an amazing cultural experience, it will also help me expand and prepare for a successful career path.

As you know, going to a different country can be really expensive and while I am working my hardest to help pay for this experience, I know I can’t afford all the costs on my own. I ask that you help me achieve my dream. Anything helps, whether it’s a dollar or sharing to reach my goal, it is truly appreciated. Thank you.
