One of the favorite questions we were asked during the interview process of adopting was, "Why? Why are you choosing to adopt?" That was easy. The answer was, "We were built for this!" Becky has had it on her heart to adopt since she was 12 years old, and being a teacher really prepares one's heart for adoption. Steve was adopted at birth as well as his 2 cousins. But that was just our circumstances, what makes this right for us is God's work in our hearts. We won't pretend that we were perfectly prayerful throughout this process. We made the common mistake of first trying to handle this problem all on our own and not consulting God. We thought we could figure it out, and sadly didn't really care about what God had to say about it. But it wasn't until the Holy Spirit moved within us, and that we actively sought our LORD through prayer, devotions as a couple, seeking a church family, and seeking God's will in scripture - that FINALLY this blessed assurance of which way to go was made clear. Blessed by the name of the LORD for all He has done, will do, and glory be to Him because He gave us YOU! Thank you for being a part of this journey with us!
