Support Kevin's Fight Against Rare Cancer

Donation protected
Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,

I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for support for my husband, Kevin.

If you know Kevin, you know he's the guy who lights up the room. Funny, optimistic, impossible to stay mad at — even when you want to. For seven long years, he fought mysterious, worsening symptoms. Doctor after doctor, test after test — but no diagnosis. Some never even ran basic bloodwork. It was frustrating, exhausting, and heartbreaking to watch this strong, joyful man be dismissed over and over.

Then, finally, a routine checkup led to bloodwork. That’s when everything changed.

Kevin was diagnosed with Essential Thrombocythemia, a rare, incurable but treatable blood cancer caused by a genetic mutation (Exxon 9). Just a few months later, after a bone marrow biopsy, we learned it had progressed to Stage 2: Myelofibrosis. The only potential cure now is a bone marrow transplant — but he must reach what's called the “danger zone” in blood levels before he qualifies, so his body doesn't reject the transplant, by having any good fighting agents left and causing life threatening complications. It's a terrifying waiting game.

As if that weren't enough, Kevin was laid off on February 28th due to a company contract change. Since then, we’ve had only one income, no health or dental insurance, and delays in unemployment and state healthcare have left us with nothing. We’re struggling to cover basic expenses — even our mortgage and car payments are at risk.

Kevin loves woodworking and turned our garage into a small shop a few years ago. He built beautiful pieces that helped supplement our income. But now, between the fatigue and pain in his feet, he is having to spend less time in the shop .

To make things worse, he now has a staph infection in his toe from delayed care — simply because we know the cost is beyond our means without insurance.

So we’re humbly asking for help — to cover Kevin’s medical costs and to save our home and vehicle, which we just purchased before the layoff when our old one failed.

If you can donate, we are deeply grateful. If not, please consider sharing this with others. Every bit of support matters — prayers, donations, shares, love — we need it all.

From the bottom of our hearts — thank you. We will never forget your kindness.

With love,
The Browns
