Help Support Susanna's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
My friend of 30 years, Susanna Spies was in a terrible car accident at the end of January. She suffered multiple injuries, including a fractured sternum, ribs, and a severe arm injury, when the car flipped upside down and landed directly on her arm, causing multiple fractures with deep nerve traction resulting in a condition called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). It’s a rare condition, and there is no known cure. Susanna is facing an uphill battle with recovery.
Many of you who know me also know Susanna or have had the pleasure of meeting her and laughing with her, and I mean belly laughing.
Susanna is a comedian who teaches and provides comedy programs to youth, adults, elders and executives at companies. For over two decades, she has made it her mission to connect people through humor. She created Comedy Playground and has developed and taught several programs (profit and nonprofit ) to serve inner-city youth and countless other students from coast to coast and internationally. She dedicates herself with all her heart, and Variety profiled her as one of the nation’s top ten instructors for Innovative Approaches to Learning.
Susanna has changed lives, grown hearts, and created opportunities for so many by advocating humor and love to the various communities she’s served. Now Susanna needs our community to nurture her. She has been unable to work on anything other than healing from multiple fractures. The hope is that (in time) she will regain the use of her dominant arm, which is presently non-functional, impacting and interrupting her ability to teach and perform.
Many of you have asked me what you can do to help Susanna, so I’ve created this page hoping that those who can... will contribute something to support our “comedy mama.”
No amount is too big or small and could help Susanna tremendously as she navigates through these very challenging times. Sometimes it takes a village. Susanna needs us.
Please keep her in your positive thoughts and prayers. Thanks so much to everyone.
