In 2022, friends and well-wishers helped raise $6K to ease Viv's path to gender-affirming surgery. The success of that effort will never be forgotten! Three years later, Viv is preparing for the next phase in her transition – not just in terms of medical support, but also stability and safety for herself and her young child in the uncertain years ahead.
That's where help is needed most.
Before you read any further, please know that key details have been omitted from this request to shield Viv and her family from any additional unkindness from online exposure.
Our plan as supportive loved ones is to help offset Viv's out-of-pocket costs for an upcoming gender-affirming surgery (estimated at $2K or higher).
Beyond there, we want to help her make a down payment toward purchasing a forever home for her family in a state where transgender rights stand a chance of being protected.
That's the plan for the $6K we're raising here. Every single donation helps! Remember, if you can't give much, the best *additional* help is to put this in front of the eyeballs of someone who might be able to give $50, $100 or more. (It doesn't take very many of these donations to wipe out a huge chunk of what is needed!)
I'm here to spread the word on Viv's behalf, because the vulnerability of her position as a trans single mom: asking for help is hard, and sharing one's story in a way that doesn't endanger oneself or one's family is getting harder all the time... as I'm sure you're well aware. So I'm hoping to make this as easy as possible for her, because she deserves it.
Viv insists that she'll be sending a handmade piece of art to every single person who donates, regardless of the amount. And I'm sure she will! That's just the way she is.
Thanks so much (again), everyone.
