Firefighting Equipment for Belize

Donation protected
Environmental Protection and improvement of living conditions in Belize by supplying high quality firefighting equipment.

BELIZE IS BURNING
and does not have the funds to source Firefighting equipment!
The World is talking about COVID-19 and the negative effects on the lungs, whereas Belize hardly has clean air to breathe...
Below pictures show the ongoing catastrophe every dry season, fires and smoke all over the place...

Many of you heard about the devastating fires in Australia (2019) but only some of you have heard about the record amount of fires in Belize. Only few of you have probably read the news about  fires which went totally out of control as the available fire brigades were not, or only partly operational or too slow to reach on time or not available at all. (Related News 1)

Especially in the dry season many bush fires cannot be attended due to insufficient equipment, risking people's health and causing life threatening conditions. The thick fumes from fires can damage the lungs, in times of COVID-19 an unbearable, life threatening condition, especially within the elderly and poor citizens.

Misael Ramirez, Chief of Staff, San Ignacio Hospital says the following:
“It will be easy to get any respiratory infection because the normal mechanism to defend your lungs will be affected due to the smoke and that will create easy field in the lungs to develop acute respiratory infections—could be viral, could be bacteria.”

We as Mouflon Carts Belize  are the No.1 suppliers of high quality ATVs and UTVs in Belize,  our product partner LINHAI produces OEM for Yamaha and Polaris and is world leader in Utility style 4x4 firefighting equipment, which is sold on local and international markets. Just recently LINHAI delivered 100s of Police ATV's to MEXICO and firefighting UTV's to AUSTRALIA after their devastating Bush fires in 2019.

As Belize is momentarily suffering from high temperatures, drought and many bush fires with a possible record number of up to 117 counted fires by NASA (Related News 3 ), we would like to support the people of Belize to cope with these ongoing catastrophes. We came up with the idea to combine our expertise within the UTV and ATV sector, using the No. 1 equipment supplier and to dispense our own win margins, to be able to supply on a most affordable level the highest quality, reliable firefighting equipment. Our proposed units are agile, 4x4 for rough terrain, fast and most easy in operation with the ability to also draw water from various sources, making it one of the best first responder utility vehicle even in remote - off road regions.

Here is how it can work:
We have done a tough calculation and a rough estimation for the basic needs to source some high quality first responder utility vehicles and thus are proposing following donation to the Government of Belize - through the Forest Department to be distributed to the Belize Fire Department and the Communities:

Firefighting ATV and UTVs.
*Above stated prices are standard sales prices in Belize Dollars and not applicable on this Goldfunde campaign, the unit prices proposed here are much lower.

For below communities we have estimated following needs (knowing that the demand is much higher, but realistically with a Goldfunde campaign not reachable):

Donation to Forest Department:
Firefighting UTV: 10
Firefighting ATV: 6

Possible distribution of the Units:

Own use at Forest Department:
Firefighting UTV: 6
Firefighting ATV: 4

Hopkins:
Firefighting UTV: 1
Firefighting ATV: 0

San Pedro:

Firefighting UTV: 1
Firefighting ATV: 1

Caye Caulker:
Firefighting UTV: 1
Firefighting ATV: 1

Placencia:
Firefighting UTV: 1
Firefighting ATV: 0

Firefighting 4x4 ATV:

As we want to support this case first hand we are putting in our win margin of ~25,000 USD and will do this order as a "non-profit order". For this special order we have also designed a spare part budget with an sales value of ~ 40,000 USD which will solely be used on the firefighting vehicles only.

Breakdown of costs is as follows:
- UTV Unit Buying: 8,000 USD (10 units)
- ATV Unit Buying: 6,100 USD (6 Units)
- Spare Parts: 23,320 USD
- Shipping (2x40ft.): 11,000 USD
- Duty  (5%): 6,400 USD
- Environment tax (2%): 2,000 USD*
- GST (12,5%): 16,750 USD*
- Landing Charge: 1,000 USD
- Local Logistic to Belmopan:  1,000 USD
- Set up per Unit UTV: 250 USD
- Set up per Unit ATV: 150 USD
- Transport to Locations: between 150 USD and 300 USD per Unit (depends).

Total cost for 10 firefighting UTV and 6 firefighting ATV (16 Units in total): ~185,000 USD - incl. 2,9% GoFundMe charge.
(Equivalent to  157k € at 1.18 USD per € exchange rate)

The Forest Department of Belize is in full support of this fund raising activity and has endorsed us to do so.

We want to highlight here that we are in negotiations with Belize Customs and the Ministry of Finance to waive COMPLETELY the Duty, GST and Environment Tax part. If this negotiations are successful, the saved funds will be used to cover O&M costs and servicing for the next years, as long as funds are available. Account transparency will be warrantied.

Our community outreach:
We as Mouflon Carts Belize give back to our community where we can. Besides sponsoring charity events like Rotary (Wine & Cheese) or fairs we also co-sponsor a youth football team (RISING STARS FC) in Belmopan and fully sponsor a Student  at the University of Belize, covering his tuition fees.

If we could, we would have bought this fire fighting equipment from our own balance sheet, but unfortunately, as we are a young start-up, we don't have the financial strength and savings to be able to cover a ~185,000 USD donation in full, which is why we kindly ask for your assistance. Please remember that this donation is not for us, but for the people of Belize.

Please be assured that every penny collected here will go into the donation as stated above and will not cover any Mouflon Carts Belize salaries or be used for personal enrichment.

For questions please don't hesitate to contact us anytime, any donation and sharing is much appreciated.

Let's get this done!

BTW: The reason for this campaign being in registered in Germany is
A) due to the fact that the manager of MCB is momentarily living in Germany and
B) to easy the cash flow - as Belize registered campaigns do get some negative attention from time to time.

The goal had to be set to €uro - at the exchange rate today this equals roughly 185K USD.

-> If you have doubts or questions, please don't hesitate to ask them.

Thank you all!
