Transforming Black Women's Health!

Friends, please help us reach our goal of raising $50,000 as we launch new and exciting projects. Our commitment is to radically improve Black Women's health in a time where health disparities are impacting African American women and girls at alarming rates. Your contribution will expand the far-reaching work we've already begun over the past 5 years, and the many year-round community-based projects and events we host to promote prevention and healthy lifestyle behaviors among the women and girls we serve.

About Us
The Foundation for Black Women's Wellness is a Wisconsin based non-profit organization committed to empowering Black women and girls to build and sustain healthy, thriving, wellness-centered lives. Our core mission is to eliminate health disparities and other barriers impacting the lives of women of African descent, and to establish a culture of wellness among women through education, outreach, and support circles. The Foundation is an outgrowth of Black Women's Wellness Day, an annual health summit launched in May 2009 which has to date impacted over 2,000 women and girls.

Why We Must REVOLUTIONIZE Black Women's Health

Today, African American women account for roughly 7% of the U.S. population and 14% percent of the total population of women, yet are over-represented in all major categories of disease and illness, including hypertension, heart disease, diabetes, cancer, stroke, obesity and reproductive disorders.

We aim to change this story by revolutionizing Black women's health through education, outreach, and advocacy that empowers women and girls to build a legacy of wellness for life.

Our Vision
We will create a world where Black women and girls live long, healthy, happy, thriving lives unhampered by preventable illnesses and characterized by strong bodies, stable minds, fulfilled spirits, and dreams realized.

Let's make it happen...Together!
