Update on Jenni's Journey: Stem Cell Transplant and Ongoing Support
Dear Friends, Family, and Supporters,
As many of you know, Jenni has been bravely battling leukemia for the past three years. After exhausting all other treatment options, she is now undergoing a life-saving stem cell transplant, which brings new hope for a cure. This transplant is a critical step in her fight, but it also comes with substantial financial challenges.
The Road Ahead
Jenni will need extensive care during her recovery, including regular medical appointments, a full-time nurse, and a safe place to stay while she heals, such as a healthcare apartment. Her treatments will require her and her family to travel frequently, incurring costs for gas, hotels, tolls, and food. Alongside these expenses, Jenni and her family face high medical deductibles and ongoing healthcare needs.
Her husband, Matt, is doing everything he can to balance working full-time, caring for their young daughter, and being by Jenni’s side through this difficult journey. He has to commute back and forth between cities, which adds even more strain on the family during this already challenging time. With the holidays approaching, we want to ensure that Jenni and her family can stay together without the added burden of financial stress, allowing them to focus on what truly matters—Jenni’s recovery and being there for one another.
How You Can Help
We are asking for your continued support as Jenni goes through this critical transplant process. Your generous donations will help cover medical costs, travel expenses, housing for Jenni and her family, and a full-time nurse to assist with her care. Your contribution will also allow her husband to stay with her during this time, ensuring they can be together as a family while she fights for her health.
Every donation—no matter the amount—will make a significant difference in Jenni’s ability to focus on healing and will alleviate some of the financial burdens they’re facing.

Not the update that we want to share.
From Jenni's FB post on 9/22/2023:
September 20th was marked to be Jenni's 'LAST maintenance treatment for Leukemia, but instead it became my worst nightmare when I heard the doctor say the word "Relapse". Two years of hell and here I am at the starting line again. Y'all....I could finally see the finish line and then instantly it was taken away. It was as though I was tripped or something pushed me and then, I could no longer see the words "Finish". I walked out of MDA in a daze and feeling defeated. I looked up and there stood my sweet husband and beautiful daughter with balloons, a "You Did It Sign", and finally a bell of my own to ring. You can imagine how I felt. I could have just crawled in a dark hole and stayed there. As I pick myself up these next couple days and spend some much needed time with my family, I will remember to breathe, be still and just know that I can do this all over again if that's what it takes. I have a week till I start treatments again and I could use your prayers.

11/18/2023 Update:
Prayer warriors: we need you!
With her relapse and the aggressive cancer, Jenni was put on a clinical trial which was suggested as the best outcome for survival. At this time, these meds have broken her down. Jenni is currently at MD Anderson in the ICU. She has pneumonia and sepsis. She is receiving oxygen assistance, and medication to stabilize her low blood pressure and high fever. "This is the worst than anything before," said Jenni.
Immediate needs:
1. PRAYERS, PRAYERS, PRAYERS! Please pray for healing, comfort, and peace. Please pray for Adelyn as she is navigating the unknowns of "mom with cancer." Please pray for Matt's protection as he has been traveling to and from Houston to care for Jenni and Adelyn. Please pray for wisdom for the doctors and her entire medical team at MD Anderson.
2. Please continue to donate. Thank you to everyone who has already contributed to The Micheli Family! Your generous contribution doesn't go unnoticed and is greatly appreciated by Matt, Jenni, and Adeyln. You can donate to this GoFundMe, but we would prefer the donation be sent to Jenni's Venmo at @JenniMicheli to ensure they receive 100% of the donation.

......
Update as of 3/26/2022: It's been 151 days since her diagnosis. After 5 months of intensive chemotherapy, the cancer is still present; therefore, she will begin a different treatment path involving monoclonal antibodies. On Tuesday, 3/22, she began her 28 days of continuous IV of Blinotumamab (8 days in the hosptial and 20 days at home) with the hopes that this will get her into remission. Once she is in remission, she can move onto a stem cell transplant. The transplant entails a 30-day hospital stay, followed with 3-month care with a 24-hour caregiver.
Please continue to pray. Please pray that this treatment path brings Jenni into remission to begin her healing journey.
Please continue to donate. Thank you to everyone who has already contributed to The Micheli Family. YOU have been a tremendous help as Matt and Jenni have been out of work since her diagnosis, and both will continue to remain "out-of-work" as Jenni begins her stem cell treatment (Matt will be her 24-hour caregiver).

......
Four days ago, our lives were turned upside down as Jenni received the news that nobody wants to receive -- she has cancer.
On September 2nd, Jenni saw a family practitioner for her annual physical and bloodwork. Little did she know that 'intense back pain and fatigue' would dramatically change her life in every way possible. These past 1.5 weeks have been nothing short of a nightmare. Jenni has been in-and-out of labs, procedures, and a bone marrow biopsy. All of these tests have confirmed that at the age 42, she has Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Jenni will be admitted to the hospital for 4-weeks of intensive chemotherapy. After her hospitalization, her treatment will continue for 2 years.
Jenni is a beloved mother to her beautiful daughter and a loving wife to her husband, Matt. The news has been immensely traumatic, but Jenni has demonstrated tremendous strength and positivity throughout this experience. Anyone who knows Jenni, knows she is one of the most selfless and loving human beings who has always been there for her family, her friends, and anyone in need. Many people have reached out wondering how they can support Jenni and her family during this time. As we try to navigate through this difficult time, we pray that this GoFundMe account will help with medical expenses, meal plans, transportation, childcare, things not covered by insurance, and the bills that continue accumulating while Jenni and Matt will be missing work.
In addition to financial support, we are asking for prayers. We have trust in God and know the strength and power of prayer. Cancer is scary, but our God is greater.
Together, we can make this scary time a little more manageable for the Micheli family. The Micheli family sincerely appreciates the overwhelming love and support they have received.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to John/Lindsey Farnish, Remi McDonnell, or Kristen Purvis for GoFundMe questions.
