Support Logan's Fight Against Brain Tumor
Donation protected
In mid-February, my 20-year-old son, Logan, was experiencing double vision and headaches. After testing was done, he was diagnosed with a massive brain tumor in the clivus canal. This is a destructive and expanding tumor that has eroded surrounding bone and is pressing against the carotid artery, pituitary gland, and the 6th cranial nerve. It is also affecting other structures in his brain and critical blood vessels.
While we are happy to have a diagnosis, the road for Logan and us as a family is going to be a challenging one. Not only will Logan have to endure a 7-8 hour surgery, which, because of where the tumor is, will be an extremely dangerous and delicate procedure, he will also need radiation treatment because it will be impossible to remove the entire tumor due to where it's located in the brain.
Obviously, because of this, Logan had to pause going to college and cannot work for the foreseeable future. His team is located in New York City (Lenox Hill) and will require him to travel from Long Island to the city frequently. Because of intense radiation therapy, we might need to spend some time overnight. There are also many aftercare requirements that he will need that will be financially stressful (special bedding, medical supplies, and other things not covered by insurance).
Logan is an amazing young man who was dealt a very bad hand. We just want him to get the best care possible. If you can help in any way, we would be very appreciative. Even sharing this page to spread the word.
