Hello, my name is Carlos Vargas. I am a 30-year-old Accountant from Cajamarca, Peru—historically one of the most impoverished regions in my country.
A few years ago, I began volunteering for MICANTO, a non-profit organization that operates largely with German funding. This experience changed my life. It allowed me to witness firsthand the daily struggles of those living in extreme poverty. Through heart-wrenching life stories, I learned to truly listen, sharpened my empathy, and discovered how to support people who have absolutely nothing and survive only on what they can find day by day.
This journey led me to a realization: to create real change, I need better tools. My research led me to the Social Policy Master's programs offered by German universities. Since then, I have dedicated all my efforts toward one goal: raising the funds necessary to pursue this degree.
My mission is not just to earn a title, but to gain the expertise needed to help more people—not only in my hometown but across my country and in other nations facing similar challenges. I want to turn my empathy into effective action.
