PLEASE READ THE UPDATES (or at least the most recent).

I want to thank everyone in advance for taking the time to read this and for any help that can be given, whether it's sharing or donating.

Due to previous losses (my second son about 9 and a half hours after full term birth, and my third son who died at 25 weeks gestation), I did not want to publicly share the news that I became pregnant again because I was worried about everyone being excited for me and then having to announce once again that the worst has happened.

Thankfully, I am not announcing another loss at this time. However, we are experiencing some difficulties. Because my third son died from anemie due to blood RH incompatibility, they have been obsessively monitoring this pregnancy and began to look for the same thing. Everything was looking good until my 21 week appointment with the high-risk specialist.

Unfortunately, the baby was showing signs of anemia and I was urgently sent to UC San Francisco, where they would be able to give him a blood transfusion. After a 4+ hour drive, a couple of days going back to the hospital and one (so far successful) transfusion, I was informed that I will need to return frequently (every week as of now) to continue checking the baby's anemia and getting transfusions until I am just far enough along for him to survive outside of the womb.

I am asking for help because we don't have the financial means to afford all of the travel expenses like gas, food, possible hotel stays, daily parking fees at UCSF, frequent (sometimes last minute) child care and school transportation for our other children for multiple days at a time, and other unexpected emergencies like this that may require unexpected travel other than the times we are currently aware of, and whatever other accommodations we may need under these circumstances during this difficult time.

We are also unaware of whether or not my insurance will cover the cost of all of the hospital stays and transfusion procedures, but we won't know for a while so I don't know if we will need help with that yet, but I will update if needed.
