Leahs Breast Cancer Fight

Hi, my name is Mel Beggs and I'm raising some funds for my bestest friend Leah Briggs.

October 2024, Leah was diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer. With experiencing some odd symptoms in the weeks prior, that seemed abnormal, she went and got checked. Little did we know, that an ultrasound quickly led to a biopsy, which led to an emergency appointment with a GP and a referral to a breast surgeon in Adelaide within a week. It's all happened very quickly. As you can imagine, the emotions are running high, life flashing before her eyes. She's a busy mum of three beautiful teenagers, works as a community ambulance officer and writes songs and creates music in her spare time. Leah has a long road ahead at this stage, three lesions in her left breast, which meant surgery, a mastectomy and chemo & radiation treatments now to follow over the coming months. This will take a toll on the family, the girls and of course herself in so many ways. Being a few hours drive for treatments, there will be lots of trips, fuel, accommodation and expenses ahead.

I'm reaching out to you all, to ask for your kind help in supporting her in a way she is always there to help others. Leah has a heart of gold and I've never known such a generous person, definitely not deserving of this breast cancer, but such as life. She's a warrior that shows true grit through her already life experiences and I believe she can get through this 100%.
