Fettuccine’s MRI and Hospital Stay
Donation protected
Hello everyone. As many people know, I have a sweet little kitten named Fettuccine. He’s been having neurological problems essentially all of his life and he’s only a few months old. We’ve gone through a lot of vet visits, testing, emergency visits, and specialists to try to get to the bottom of what’s going on with him. His neurologist started him on seizure medicine to try to control his focal seizures (focal seizures affect a specific part of the brain but we don’t know exactly what part of his brain is being affected). The meds were supposed to limit the frequency and length of his seizures, but unfortunately they haven’t been effective and his seizure activity has escalated to a dangerous degree. In the last few days he’s had seizures that have lasted 8+ minutes. The next possible course of action is to get him an MRI. This has been a difficult decision for me because he will have to be sedated and due to his health problems, there is an increased risk for a cat like him to go under. I still believe this is the right choice though to try and figure out a clear diagnosis and to gauge the seriousness of his condition. In addition to the cost of his MRI testing, he will be staying in an animal hospital for monitoring before he can be seen by his neurologist for the MRI. He’s having multiple seizures a day at this point but a stay at the hospital will put him at a high priority for the MRI. I’ve been able to make all of his care and vet visits work financially so far, but an MRI and hospital stay is very expensive. If anyone is willing and able to donate, it would help Cheeny and I immensely. I hate to see any animal suffer, and he is such a special guy who I love so much. I want to make sure he has the best quality of life and care I can possibly provide for him. Thanks so much for any help you can provide and please send him prayers and healing vibes during this time. ❤️
