Festrogen 2023

Women-centric comedy festival Festrogen returns to Luxembourg for its second edition in June 2023, proposing a four-day line-up of fabulous shows and workshops.
Why Festrogen?
It is no secret that, around the world, comedy lacks diversity. With humour as a powerful vehicle for spreading messages of change and building resilience, it is the perfect tool for the underrepresented. As performing comedians, the five Festrogen founders recognised that change would not happen on its own, and so set out to create the scene they dreamed existed when they started out. Festrogen aims to level the playing field for marginalized voices in stand-up comedy and promote equality. The festival supports people identifying as women, non-binary, and/or queer in comedy, offering a dedicated platform to perform, access to professional skills development and all the advantages that come with being part of a supportive network.
Thanks to a partnership with the Ville de Luxembourg, this year the team has invited new instructors and artists to Luxembourg. We are thrilled to welcome three-time NYC Moth storytelling competition winner Melanie Hamlett and acclaimed comedian Caroline Clifford to teach three new workshops: funny storytelling, authentic standup comedy and comedy improv. This year, our gala shows will feature hilarious touring comedians Mikaela Birch and Luize Beca. And on the last day of the festival, audiences can see Melanie in action with her solo storytelling show.
