Festival Lingua Franca is a yearly DIY music festival held in Downtown Toronto every year during the last weekend of august. it is dedicated to showcasing bands in the punk, rock, and metal genres with non white members with a particular focus on members of the Black, Latinx, and Caribbean communities. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the festival has had to move to the virtual space. this has brought it's on unique challenges. The most apperent of these challenges is funding. The goal of this funraiser is the allow us to offer bands who agree to play the event a guarantee for their efforts as well as to cover any upfront costs that may arise. The suggested donation price ($10-$15) is marked at the general sliding scale ticket prices that we have used durig the in person events over the years. Please think of your donation as being no different than buying a ticket to the event as in both cases the funds go toward the bands. Know reaching our goal will allow us ensure the best possible event. Thank you for your time
