Ferrah, the young ferret, needs an ultrasound for her Heart

Donation protected
Hello! My name is Nakita, and I am fundraising for my young ferret that has a heart irregularity and needs an ultrasound so we can find out what's causing the problem.

Ferrah is only 1.5 years old—just a baby, and she’s the boldest, brightest, most acrobatic little ninja of a ferret you’ll ever meet. She’s one of four ferrets in our home, and easily the most spirited. But during a recent vet visit, we found out something that broke our hearts: Ferrah has an irregular heartbeat. This could be a sign of underlying heart disease, and without an ultrasound to know more, we’re flying blind.

Despite her joyful energy, Ferrah’s body has started to show signs—she’s losing weight, even though she’s eating well. She’s still bouncing around with all the sass and sparkle she’s known for, but we don’t want to wait until that light begins to dim.

An echocardiogram (heart ultrasound) will help us understand what’s going on and give us a chance to catch this early—but the cost is well over $700, on top of several hundred already spent on her diagnostic visit. We’ve been setting aside funds for future care, but this came on suddenly, and we just weren’t ready. If I could get help on funds for the ultrasound, it would give me the chance to save for whatever treatment or care that will come afterwards.

I’m currently in school studying animal health and behavior sciences, so I’ve gone deep into research, already switching her to a raw, whole-food diet to give her the best possible foundation. But we need help getting to that next, critical step: seeing what’s happening inside her heart before symptoms worsen.

If you've ever loved a pet like family, you know the ache of not being able to help them when they need it most. We’re doing everything we can to stay ahead of this, but we need our village now more than ever.

If you’re able to donate—even just a few dollars—or share this fundraiser with your community, it would mean the world to Ferrah and to us.

About Ferrah ferret!

She is my sweet little ninja snow angel hope rope! A true serotonin slinky always on the move! When I first got Ferrah, all of the workers in the store said, "You don't want that one, she's terrible and bites every time you pick her up!" They hated her, you could tell. But the moment I picked her up, we were bonded, even though she did latch on to my arm while doing so! I just loved her; she was this soft little feather inside that just needed more space and attention than her current lot in life.

Now, if you know ferrets, you know that they are not the most agile of creatures; they're pretty clumsy and often plop, roll over, or trip in a lazy, hilariously floppy manner. Adorable. Ferrah, on the other hand, is a wild little weasel who loves climbing up vertical surfaces and making big jumps from tables to couches, to whatever is around! Always pushing herself to make bigger jumps and climbs! It's SO fun to watch and you can tell she just LOVES it! After a few months of care and hard work, ferrah no longer bites, instead she gives kisses in fact she has becoming the gentlest ferret when it comes to play biting, i can stick my finger in her mouth and she holds it so softly without actually biting down, im honestly amazed with her.

Ferrah loves running at the park, especially if there's a big hill, she loves running down it with big hops until she loses control and rolls down it! She loves trying to climb the trees and is starting to get pretty good. We love taking her camping so she can explore new areas, bounce on rocks, and dig in the sand!

Ferrah has brought us so much laughter and amazement. She keeps me on my toes when it comes to creating a unique enrichment to keep her mind going. She is so inquisitive. You'll watch her stop and stare at a puzzle or route, completely still as if she is in deep thought about it. She will do it to you too. She looks up and just stares at you with this look that I've never seen in the other ferrets. Like she's REALLY looking at you with so much wonder, not scared, or even super alert, just with deep curiosity. We love her so much, I can't bare the thought of losing her this soon I thought we would at least have a few good years with her! So any help we can get to figure out what's causing her heart to go arry would be so helpful and massively appreciated.

Thank you so much for your time!
