Fernando, so he can keep helping people heal!

We all have a moment in life when we need help from others. This is the case for Fernando right now. Fernando works with horses and people in the field of Psychotherapy and Coaching. In his words, his profession “is for people who like to help people”. His vocation is to use horses to help people heal and grow. Fernando has put his knowledge and experience into practice to benefit a wide range of communities. He has worked for many years with child victims of human trafficking, with individuals and families who require therapeutic help, and also with senior business executives through coaching sessions with horses. He was one of the first people who advocated for the horses in this work and fought for them to be considered as co-facilitators in human development sessions. Fernando has positively impacted the lives of many leaders and teams (including my own) who in turn influenced the lives of large numbers of people, spreading positivity. The ripple effects of his work cannot be quantified, as he has also dedicated himself to teaching these skills to other facilitators, so this work could grow.

Approximately two years ago he began to develop a debilitating leg condition that slowly eroded his ability to be active. Since his work involves standing and moving throughout the day, and working with horses, this has made it impossible for him to do his work. With such pain and decreased mobility, the situation continues to decline. Currently, the situation has reached the point where the effect of pain medicine is insufficient, and he is not able to carry out basic daily activities. The doctors have concluded that there is no other possibility to solve the problem other than undergoing urgent surgery.

Knowing the economic situation that currently affects him due to the COVID pandemic that we have experienced in the last two years and the type of work that he does in the arena with the herd of co-facilitators (horses), I join his cause and I share this message in which he asks for our solidarity:

"Hello Colleagues, friends and family,

I am contacting you because as many of you know, I believe in the strength of community. If you know me well enough, you will know that in my personal life and especially in my professional life I have worked to contribute to building a community.

I never thought this would happen, yet here I am, reaching out to my community because my personal life and most of all my professional life is at risk.
Many of you know that the type of work I do requires me to be on my feet, balanced, alert and facilitating in the arena with my co-facilitators, a herd of horses. Unfortunately, for several reasons and health circumstances, I have gotten into a situation where if I don't have hip replacement surgery I won't be able to continue doing so. I have seen several options in Mexico, where I live, but unfortunately, mainly due to the pandemic, my available funds are limited and insufficient.
I feel great gratitude towards life for having had the opportunity to do what I like the most by contributing to this field and I know that I still have much more to give.
I will appreciate any help you can provide.

I am hoping to be able to continue transforming lives through horses."

"Hola Colegas, amigos y familia,
