“500” | ”El Quinientos”

Fernando Ortega Suarez was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend—gone far too soon. Known to many as “500” or “El Quinientos,” Fernando was a bright light in the lives of everyone he encountered. His infectious smile, contagious laugh, and warm, love-filled hugs made him unforgettable.

Fernando was a beautiful soul—attentive, kind, and always present. He was a hardworking and dedicated man with big dreams and goals, yet he never failed to make time for his family, friends, and travels. He lit up every room he entered and left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

On Friday, August 22nd, 2025, our beloved Fernando lost consciousness and was rushed to a nearby hospital. Doctors informed us that he had suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm and a stroke. He was taken into emergency surgery to repair the artery. Despite the best efforts of medical professionals, Fernando’s organs began to shut down over the following days, beginning with his lungs and kidneys, and eventually his heart.

We are completely heartbroken and devastated by this sudden and unimaginable loss. Yet, in our grief, we find peace in knowing that this was part of God’s perfect plan to bring Fernando home to His glory.

We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support. Every prayer, message, visit, and call has meant the world to our family. We know Fernando was deeply loved, and we cherish hearing all the beautiful stories and memories you’ve all shared about him.
