Fermentados [fermented vegetables] are the threads of nutrition and connection that run through our meals. We are passionate about preserving food and medicinal lifeways. In the process of learning regenerative methods of growing food, we fell in love with sauerkraut and kimchi. Our family relies on these delicious ferments for their probiotics and enzymes which help us digest and assimilate nutrients.

We've been doing market research for the past few years and have connected with many in the Indianapolis and North Manchester area who love our creations. Last summer, we moved to caretake for land and now have the capacity to expand our growing space. We want to share our products with more people. Upgrading our growing operation will allow us to provide most of the ingredients. We plan to source the rest from local growers who are doing their part to foster reciprocity in their environments. A greenhouse will extend the growing season for staple crops: ginger and turmeric, cabbages and root vegetables. Having reliable media equipment will allow us to manage operations and provide quality educational material like how-to videos and recipe collections.

Of the $12K raised:

32% will be used to purchase kitchen equipment like fermentation crocks, packaging and labels.

30% will fund the greenhouse housing our staple crops--ginger, turmeric, cabbage & root veggies.

20% will allow us to purchase reliable media for business management and digital content.

18% will cover permits, licenses and initial negotiations with kitchen rentals and market booths.
