Hello, my name is Andrew Fergus and I am currently in remission from Stage 3 Bowlel Cancer.

My story started in April 2024. After multiple GP appointments and countless tests, I was finally given my diagnosis and placed in the care of the Cancer Pathway Team at Oldham Hospital. I had my first surgery in June 2024 to fit a temporary ileostomy bag. I attended daily radiotherapy appointments for 5 weeks through August and September, and 3 months of weekly chemotherapy through to Christmas. In February 2025 I had my final surgery, where my tumour was successfully removed, my ileostomy was reversed, and a colostomy bag was fitted to live with for the rest of my life.

This past year cannot be described using a single word and so I cannot thank the support and tremendous work from my family, friends, doctors, nurses, surgeons and the amazing people at Christie's and Maggie's who have helped me, and my family mentally manage the huge changes to all our lives.

Thankfully, on the 1st March 2025 I was given the all clear, and with that would love to give back to the amazing charities that have helped and supported me.

And so, I'm asking family and friends to spare any donations to the incredible Maggie's and Christie's charities at Oldham that continue to support people who have been and continue to be in the same position as me and my family.
