Leah's Medical Expenses

Hey everyone! I am fundraising for my friend Leah. Leah is 33 and from the Virgin Islands. A little while back, Leah was not feeling like herself and, after an emergency visit to her doctor, discovered she has stage 3 cervical cancer. Medical facilities on the Virgin Islands are not as well equipped to treat her condition as the hospitals are elsewhere. Leah has left home to receive her medical care here in NYC. Some of the best oncologists in the world are treating Leah, and the condition is curable. However, the process of becoming cancer free is not easy. Since she is not home, Leah is unable to work. Leah is fortunate to have insurance but will still need to pay for copayments and treatments not covered by insurance. In addition to direct medical costs, fundraising money will help Leah and her family pay for plane tickets, transportation to and from appointments, food, self-care/ mental health needs, and general bills/ living expenses.
