Feral Mama & Her Babies Need Vetted

Feral Mama Thistle showed up in May starved to the bone. When I began feeding her I had no idea she would soon bring me her six kittens. Two were lucky enough to be adopted, but the other four and Mama were left with no prospects. The only options left to me were to put them back outside, or transition the five of them to indoor life with my own three cats.

North Carolina has the second highest rate of animal shelter euthanasia in the country. Every rescue nearby and far is overflowing this year and in serious need of additional aid themselves. Our county shelter is even pleading legislators to expand right now because so many more animals come in than ever leave.

I am only one person doing my best to care for the eight cats I now have the responsibility of since there is nowhere else left for them to go. Unfortunately I do not have any expendable income and I could not have prepared for five new cats.

Donations will help to cover Mama's and her kitten's spays, plus rabies vaccines and booster shots. Any donations beyond the original goal will go towards more food, litter, enrichment and cleaning supplies.
