Cat's Cradle Animal Rescue (CCAR) has been Trapping/Spaying/Neutering/Vaccinating cats and kittens at the request of some residents in First Nations Communities on Vancouver Island. Since August 2023, we have fixed 50+ cats and rescued approximately 50 kittens who will ultimately go up for adoption once they are healthy. In August/ September 2022 we fixed 40 cats and rescued 35 kittens. Our goal is to continue working in these communities to help control the over population of cats. We have prevented the birth of thousands of kittens with just the number we have fixed to date. Unfortunately, we have no funding to continue this project and have at least another 30 cats that we have been asked to help with, more requests will come along for sure. We estimate that each cat we fix, costs us approximately $300. Some cats come in with medical issues that we need to take care of before releasing them back into the communities. Whenever we can we also try to supply the residents with food to feed their cats. We would love to be able to continue helping the cats in the communities close to us, but we need your help too! This year alone we have spent over $15,000 on this project. If you prefer to donate directly to Cat's Cradle, send an email directly to CCAR for info on how to do this. We can supply tax receipts upon request.
Thank you for caring and helping us continue our work!
We really don't want to stop, but we have run out of funds.
