Feral Cat
Donation protected
I received a call last weekend from a young Japanese lady named Yumi in Jackson Heights, Queens that I did an injured pigeon transport for once. She asked me if I could help her with an injured cat so I met with her and saw this cat in a vacant lot.
She told me that she had been trying to catch the cat for some time now and the first time she saw the cat was a few months ago and another person that feeds the stray and feral cats on the block said the cat has been like this for months.
I immediately contacted a friend with a drop box trap in order to catch the cat because I did not have a drop box trap only the standard and with the cats legs sticking out sideways it would never make it into the narrow trap. I watched the cat run and drag its body on one side which broke my heart and could not believe that this cat is on a residential block with people walking by every day and seeing the condition of this cat and nobody stepped up to help it except for Yumi.
I was unable to get the cat in the trap the first night due to many human obstacles but the 82 year old woman who feeds the cat managed to grab it yesterday and put it in a box which was not the best idea because she had to go to the hospital afterwards and we could have avoided her getting hurt but I am happy she got the cat. Now the cat is in a large cage in my basement.
Yumi named it Sammy because we don't know if it is a male or female yet so its either a Samuel or Samantha aka Sammy for short.
I have to get Sammy to a vet for examination which I will do this weekend but I have found that with this Corona Pandemic Veterinarians are really taking advantage of the opportunity to balloon the prices.
I'm sure Sammy's vet bill will be massive and looking for donations to cover the initial visit and future procedures that will have to be performed.
I will post pictures of the initial bill and estimated costs of future procedures that need to be performed. I will keep track of who and when donates and all donations will go toward Sammy's costs.
If the 1st donator donates $10.00 at the end of the GOFUNDME Sammy Campaign if there is $10.00 left over that was not used that person will get the $10.00 they donated back for helping me get Sammy the medical help needed.
If the 50th donor donates $10.00 at the end of the GOFUNDME Sammy Campaign if there is $10.00 left over that was not used that person will get the $10.00 they donated back for helping me get Sammy the medical help needed.
I will show all bills online with calculations of any money left over.
If someone knows a veterinarian that could provide low cost or no cost treatment please let me know with contact information because in Brooklyn, New York dealing with veterinarians are like buying diamonds at the diamond district in Manhattan you go in to buy a diamond for the woman you love and come out with the diamond and a mortgage payment.
If you know cat rescue organizations, shelters or sanctuaries that can get discounts at veterinarians please let me know with the contact information.
I don't like asking for donations and I am usually the donator to several causes but I really need help with this one because it came at a very hard time.
My home is Sanctuary to seventeen mouths to feed, most are rescues;
King my Cockatoo, Noey my Dog, Sasha, Nina & Anka my Cats, 8 Pigeons and 2 Parakeets and the new additions are Coconut a feral cat I rescued from being euthanized at Brooklyn ACC with Feline Aids and Kidney Disease and now Sammy is s/he survives.
I appreciate any help
I am the Bridge between what is and what could be,
I save lives
I am an Animal and Avian Transporter
Feel free to contact me regarding Sammy my number is [phone redacted]
I am also on instagram as whynotbe.king
