Hello,
My name is Mohammed Ghanem, and I am organising this fundraiser on behalf of my niece; Shahed Ghanem.
Those are the words of Shahed that she would like you to read,
"After more than 200 days of staying strong and countless attempts of survival, we decided to create this fundraiser.
My name is Shahed, the eldest sister for 3 girls and one boy. I am 18 and this was supposed to be my final year of school. However, unfortunately, this whole school year is lost exactly like everything else in Gaza.
When the war started on October 7th, I was getting myself ready to go to school. I had just ironed my uniform and had my cup of tea. That was the last peaceful cup I had.
We lived through hell, we got stuck in our house for days! After 40 days of fighting the urge to leave, we had to when they started to shell our area randomly and with no specific target. We managed to get out under rockets.
I could never forget how many bodies were on the ground, the screams of children, the tears of my sisters and the fear in my mom’s eyes as she tried to keep us all alive.
We moved from Al Thalathini area, to Al Zaitoun. We stayed there for 4 days. Then, what happened in our house happened there again. So this time, we got displaced to the middle area. In two months, we moved three times in the middle area.
We had nothing. We walked for miles with nothing but our backpacks. The floor was our bed and one tiny blanket was what kept the 5 of us warm at night.
In December, we had to evacuate for the seventh time, but this time was the worst. We went to Rafah with no place to go.
Eventually, we found a tent. This was the beginning of another war
. For 4 months now, we have no proper food, water, or bathroom. To use the bathroom, we have to walk for 15 minutes. To get water, we have to stand in lines for a very long time.
You should see mom. She is the most beautiful person; now she doesn’t look herself. Her hands are callous and her face is dusty with the fire she starts to cook us food.
We are tired of the summer’s heat; we can barely breathe inside the tent. We lost everything we own.
We need help to provide food and water; we need help to stay alive and evacuate if we got lucky.
The amount of money we are asking for will go into evacuating my family.
10,000 $ for evacuating my three sisters and one brother all under 16.
15,000 $ for evacuating my dad, mum and I.
7000$ for rent, and basic life expenses in Egypt for 6 months.
2000$ to cover gofundme fees.
I would be super thankful for every penny you donate. Your money will help us in starting over and trying to make up for the school year I lost."
Your generous donations will be transferred into the account of our close friend and relative, Nisreen, and then will be transferred to us in Gaza in a very secure and trusted manner. Please share and spread the word. Thank you.
