Help Rebuild Our Fire-Damaged Home

I live in my sister's house with her 2 daughters and my mother. This was our childhood home we lived in with our mother since I can remember. It became my nieces childhood home too. I was very young when we moved in, but i still have memories of touring it with my mother before we bought it and thinking it looked like a castle. Many friends and family have lived here with us over the years and the house holds many memories for all of us.

Our house took some damage when we rented it out and we spent every cent we had and our own labor to repair it and improve it in any way we could.

My family and I live together in our house. It's all we have. We live in california and don't have fire insurance. We poured every cent we have into fixing our house and on 1/28/2025, a house fire started on the left side from the woodstove.

It quickly crawled its way up the side, and made its way across the roof, and through the crawl space.

Everyone is safe and alive; my mom woke everyone up, and we got everyone out and all our pets, but we have no electricity, the roof is destroyed, and there is water damage from the hoses.

I still can't get over how we had stained the steps just the night before this happened. Seeing a house I've lived in almost my whole life in this state is hard to comprehend and we feel so devastated to see all of our hard work literally go up in flames just as we felt we might get some relief.

Half our house no longer has a roof. There is an unintential window in the master bedroom. My Neices room has no roof and has drywall hanging from the ceiling and is covered in wet burnt drywall and insulation. My mother's room full of water and my room and bathroom smoke damaged and full of water. The kitchen is full of water. The carpets covered in smoke residue and soaked from the hoses. My sister and nieces have lost most of their clothes and personal belongings. We can't turn on the electricity because of melted and lose wires. When the water is turned on, it comes shooting from the side of the house where the pipes to our demand system were damaged. And we don't even know where we are going to lay our heads in the coming days and Winter is not over yet.

We need a new roof, the electrical needs to be redone, and we have to replace a ton of drywall, studs, insulation, fix our demand system, and replace some carpet. These are the things that will take up the majority of the funds, but we also need funds for dump runs to dispose of the waste the fire has created, supplies to properly cleanse the toxicity from burning fiberglass, paint, wood, and all the chemicals baked into housing materials.

Please, anything helps us to clean up and rebuild. Even if its only $5, $10, or $20. Even if you cant afford to give anything, please share this anywhere you can for us.
