Fencing of the Jewish cemetery in Leżajsk

Tax deductible
The Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland has been caring for the Jewish heritage in Poland since 2002.
We own 156 Jewish cemeteries in Poland.
One of them is the historic Jewish cemetery in Leżajsk, founded in the 17th century, with an area of 5 acres (20,000 square meters). There are several dozen tombstones and a lapidary in the cemetery.
The cemetery also houses ohel of Tzaddik Elimelech Weissblum from Leżajsk, one of the most outstanding representatives of Hasidism and author of the work "Noam Elimelech ". For this reason, the cemetery in Leżajsk is a place of pilgrimage for Hasidim from all over the world who come here to pray in the ohel .
In order to properly preserve the cemetery in Leżajsk, it is necessary to completely fence it. Currently, the cemetery is fenced only on one side. The aim of our fundraising is to raise funds for fencing the remaining parts of the cemetery. To accomplish this, we need funds for a 2,300-foot (700-meter) fence along with a gate and wicket. For this reason, we appeal to all people of good will to support our fundraising campaign. Only by working together can we preserve the Heritage for future generations.
