Fencing is for Everyone
Donation protected
My name is Jeremiah Ng, and I am a 18 year old fencer from Durkan Fencing Academy. Fencing is a sport with a high barrier of entry in which many kids across America cannot participate. Therefore, I dream of sharing fencing with as many of them as possible.
In Spring 2022, I started running a nonprofit free fencing program for kids ages 6-13, focused on serving the underserved community. I had 10 students at the time, but since then, the program has grown to over 50 fencers. Every Saturday we have class and learn basic fencing, in addition to playing games and learning lessons of teamwork and sportsmanship!
In addition to sharing the sport with the underserved community, I also want to make a meaningful impact on my student’s lives. I believe the most effective way to achieve this goal is to give them the opportunity to participate in advanced fencing classes and competitions by sponsoring scholarship athletes from my program into Durkan Fencing Academy classes, which cost $575 per month. I currently have 3 scholarship athletes, but am always looking for help to sponsor more and allow for my current scholarship athletes to compete in tournaments!
You can visit my website at fencingisforeveryone.com. Any contribution would be greatly appreciated to benefit the future generation of fencers.
Thank you to everyone,
Jeremiah
