Sword in the Scroll Fencing Academy is a fully volunteer run 501(c)(3) organization that is dedicated to bringing the sport of fencing to all socioeconomic groups. We utilize the great sport of fencing in order to promote a diverse community and provide an athletic and intellectual outlet for people of all ages and all acts of life.

We have found that competition is one of the best ways to build confidence and self-esteem in our youth. It encourages a strong work ethic and teaches children and adults alike that failure is often the best teacher. When we acknowledge failure as an opportunity to learn and grow it leads directly to success.

In February SITS moved to a new location. We have been renovating for what feels like forever but we are now close to being finished. When renovations are completed SITS will have a 10,000 square foot facility with 9 competition strips. With this new facility we will now have the ability to offer affordable fencing tournaments to our local community. This will be a space where we can empower the next generation to be their best self. We could not have gotten here without the selfless and generous support of our community.

The last step in our journey towards a thriving competition space is purchasing scoring equipment. Each competition strip requires two reels, two floor cords, an electronic scoring device, and remote control. This set up costs $1,900 per strip. On September 13th & 14th SITS will be holding a Grand Reopening 3 Weapon Tournament. SITS is committed to purchasing four additional sets of scoring equipment for this event. The total cost of this endeavor will be $7,600.

As a fully volunteer nonprofit SITS is relying on its wonderful community to help raise these funds.
