Reunite soldier and dog
Donation protected
Meet Winston! This 2 year old cutie belongs to a soldier who is currently deployed in Afghanistan. Winston is a much loved member of a wonderful family, however caring for him has been challenging for his mom who is "holding down the fort" with 2 small children and a home without a fenced in yard. Our family has been fostering Winston during his owner's deployment . We decided to start this campaign to raise money to build a fence for this family so that Winston can be reunited with his owner when he returns home.
Winston has an interesting history. While his owner was serving in Africa, their camp became the home of a pack of wild dogs. These dogs slept with the soldiers and protected their camp while they were on patrol. If an animal or a person entered their camp, the dogs would alert the soldiers. As you can imagine, the soldiers became very attached to these dogs. One pregnant dog was brought back to the USA and one of her puppies, Winston, was adopted by the soldier in this campaign. Because of this history and the soldier's profound appreciation of how these dogs served his fellow soldiers, their bond is strong! Being reunited with Winston will bring joy and comfort as his owner readjusts to life back home. We have seen how much this energetic pup loves to run free in our backyard. Please consider making a donation to help fence in this family's yard so that Winston is home to greet this soldier when he returns in December. Any contribution is very helpful and will convey a message of appreciation to this soldier for his service to our nation! Thank you.
