Female Filmmaker's First Film

Donation protected
My name is Leah Welch and I'm a first-time female filmmaker. I'm an investigative journalist turned screenwriter and after many years toiling away at story, I get to see my vision come to life.  I spent almost a decade as a 35mm film projectionist watching all of those thousands of films through the porthole glass. My favorites were and continue to be, horror films. I love James Whale's films especially. That's why my first feature film--I'm so stoked to present to you all--is a female werewolf story.
Scarlet, a werewolf, gets held hostage by Anton, a biochemist who’s partner Scarlet killed. Anton wants to kill Scarlet but can only do this when she’s in wolf form on a full moon. They have three days to wait together.

The next full moon is coming soon so time is of the essence. Getting my film fully funded means that you're supporting female storytellers. I turn 40 years old this year, and directing has been something I've put off doing because I didn't think I could do it. But with the support of some beautiful creative friends, and with your generous help, I'll get to make my first feature film before my birthday in December. It would be great to finish a life goal of mine before that date. Maybe we can all celebrate together?
