Hello family and friends!! We knew there would be a time that dad’s battle with cancer would come to an end, but we never knew how hard this was going to be. Dad is a fighter and let me tell you, he’s still fighting with all his might and strength. He’s so damn stubborn hard-headed!! 

My sis and I were trying so hard to keep him near us, family and friends. We wanted him to be comfortable during his final months/days. My sister and brother-in-law opened up their home and made him his own private room, bathroom, etc. I could go on and on about the sacrifices they have made. Hospice has been a great help, which we were able to get through the VA, but their time is limited. It is starting to take a toll on everyone as Dad’s health gets worse.  My uncles have been here helping and we are forever grateful. Many, many of my family members have stepped in to help. Friends have brought meals, ran errands and has offered us help in any way they can. WE ARE BLESSED! 

We are to a point that we hoped wouldn’t come. We need a little more help. He will turn 65 on Aug. 1st and hopefully will have some financial help. My sister and brother-in-law have been visiting different health facilities and just haven’t felt comfortable. My sister said, “How do I look our Dad in the face and tell him we are moving him to a home?” My heart broke. 

We are going to try to keep him with us at my sis’ a little while longer. We are not quite sure of his benefits at 65...but for now, we would like to hire more help here. We have hired someone to help 2 days a week, but it’s just not enough. It’s quite costly. Many of you have asked what you can do to help. This is it...if you could possibly donate it would be so graciously appreciated. I can promise it will be used to help care for my Dad...we just want him safe and comfortable, but need a lot more experienced help. If you are able to donate, thank you. However, your prayers are still needed, DAILY.
