Felix's Medical Bill Fund

Donation protected
Meet Felix, a beautiful little boy who was born to my niece, Kim, on June 20th 2016.

Felix was diagnosed in utero with a severe congenital heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia. This is the most severe form of TOF. (See link below for a description). This rare condition involves four different heart defects which need to be treated aggressively with multiple surgeries in early childhood and teen years. Felix is just reaching six months, and has already endured two open heart surgeries, among other procedures.

Felix is an amazing little fighter, and has a smile that will melt your heart. However, the reality of the situation is that Felix's medical bills are becoming very expensive despite having health insurance. Kim has a good full-time job, and is a very hard-working single mother who would do anything for Felix. This year, her existing health insurance dropped Lurie Children’s Hospital and supporting providers (basically Felix’s entire medical team) from their coverage plan. Kim was able to switch to another plan but is paying higher monthly premiums, along with deductibles and coinsurance and has inevitable out of pocket expenses to support his ongoing care.

The money raised in this campaign will be used by Kim, Felix's mom, to help pay for his medical bills. We are grateful for any support you can provide.
