My name is Grace, and I am a 23-year-old college student in the United States. Recently, my sister Annika, who is 14, and I faced an unimaginable loss—our beloved mother passed away suddenly in the UK, where she lived with my sister under a work visa. With our father absent from our lives and our closest relatives thousands of miles away in Kenya, we are now in an incredibly challenging situation. The UK government is assessing my suitability to become my sister’s guardian, adding to the uncertainty we face.

Amidst our grief, we are struggling to cover the costs of our mother's funeral, which are beyond my financial reach.
