Hello friends and family, as many of you know, on Tuesday, August 4th, our brother, Felipe Baides was involved in a terrible accident. He was riding his motorcycle when he was rear ended by another vehicle, causing severe injuries on his lower left leg, jaw bone, and many minor injuries. We are beyond blessed that he survived this incident. Unfortunately, Felipe went through many surgeries in an attempt to save his leg, but his lower left leg was damaged beyond repair which ultimately led to an amputation right below the knee. Felipe’s amputation is being watched closely, due to the severity of the injury they might need to cut more off. The vehicle that struck him immediately fled the scene and a police report has been filed with the Houston Police Department in hopes of catching the person responsible. Felipe is only 23 and still has so much life to live. As we all know, lifesaving procedures come with a hefty price tag which, on top of his injury, will only hinder Felipe from achieving his goals and living a normal life. Felipe will be needing a transtibial prosthetic. Prosthetics usually only last a couple of years, regardless he will need multiple ones to keep up with the hobbies he has such as driving his manual transmission car or going for long walks with his dog, among other things. The entire situation has placed a burden on both Felipe and my family and we are asking for help from our friends and family who are able to during our time of need. We are forever thankful our brother was wearing proper gear and did not suffer other life threatening injuries. We are also extremely grateful for all the love and support we have already received from our friends and family. We welcome all prayers and donations to help with the medical expenses.
